Unique Dutch old 'brown cafe', where elderly locals drink some beers and jevener.
“Best espresso in town, they roast their coffee themselves, if you pass by, drop in for a coffee or cappuccino”
“This is a true hidden treasure in the very touristic 'Leidse Plein' area. The staff is well dressed and very gentlemanly polite. The bar is small and has his own local crowed (hardly any toerist seem to discover this little jewel). Think red velvet and dark wood. They even have two extra high seats that make sure you'll overlook the hole bar and feel like a king. Order yourself some Amsterdam brewed beer ('Ij-wit' or a 'Zatte' for instance and feel like a local. Make sure you'll blend in and act like a gentleman- or girl yourself and you'll have a great endless night. ”
“GVB has offered a ferry connection between Central Station and Amsterdam North. This form of transport is safe, fast and free. Many of these blue-and-white ferries can be found directly behind Amsterdam Central Station.”
“The place to be, to see Dutchies chill out in the park. Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam, and certainly the most famous park in the Netherlands, which welcomes about 10 million visitors every year. Centrally placed south of Leidseplein and near Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh Museum. The Vondelpark is loved by Amsterdammers as well as by tourists, and is full of people - enjoying a sunny day, dog-walking, jogging, roller-skating, listening to music, people-watching, or just relaxing on the grass. Free concerts are given at the open-air theatre or in the summer at the park's bandstand. Other attractions are the statue of the poet Vondel, the cast iron music dome, het Blauwe Theehuis, and the historical Pavilion with its restaurant Vertigo, opening in summer a popular terrace. ”
