Ask 10 people in Louisville for their favorite local pizza joint, and you'll get 7 different answers. Impellizeri's, Wicks, Bonnie & Clyde's, and others will bubble to the top. I disagree. Clifton's has the best pizza in the city. They make it in a brick oven, and I've never gotten a pie in less than 45 minutes. But it doesn't matter because it's totally worth it! The crust is perfect. The cheese is thick and stringy. They're generous with their toppings, and it tastes great. Calzones are about the size of a small pizza folded in half, and come with potato chips. Weird, but it somehow works. This place is a dive, but if you can get past the facade, you'll get a great meal.
