There are fabulous walks around Ashridge in any season. Great for nature lovers and foodies as the cafe there is very good.
National Trust managed, it's wonderful for walks in it's very dense forests. By the Ashridge monument there's a nice NT coffee shop serving food and hot drinks.
Ashridge Estate is rich in wildlife & history. It has a wealth of beautiful walks,a visitors' centre, an excellent cafe & the Bridgewater Monument. It is only 10 mins away.
Large area of National Trust woodland, great for scenic walks and a brilliant cafe also serving a lovely selection of hot meals (busy during summer weekends!).
Breathtaking views from Irvinghoe Beacon, long walks through all kinds of countryside. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Free entrance and free parking. It's great!
Ancient trees, rolling chalk downlands and lush meadows in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a nice Golf course.
Grocery or Supermarket
“Sainsbury supermarket, just a few minutes walk. Interesting for overseas guests.”
“Great country manor house right on our doorstep. A lovely walk up the hill, nice bar to get drinks and walk around the grounds, and a golf course if you enjoy golf.”
“This is a really beautiful space with walkways around 2 large lakes. There is a sailing school and jet ski school here, as well as a coffee shop which uses Allpress coffee beans. ”
“Fantastic setting right by the canal. There is free parking, you need to just go to the bar and give your registration number. Highly recommend a hot chocolate by the canal in winter or during the summer an alfresco meal outside! It's a huge place so there's plenty of space inside if it's raining! ”
