There are a couple of these around Oakland. This one is probably a 15-20 minute walk away. If barbeque is your thing it is worth a visit.

In 1973 Dorothy Turner Everett opened Oakland's beloved BBQ & soul-food restaurant. This family owned business continues to thrive. Rib and sausage platters are favorites here, but the menu goes way beyond the traditional brisket. Banquet facilities. Lunch and dinner daily. What to eat: Two Way Combo with Collard Greens

Its a fried chicken and BBQ chain but its good/worthwhile, especially if you are in a rush.
