Neon slaw, and a true authentic BBQ joint, this place opens for lunch and then closes when they sell out. It's on Lamar, so not the most walkable place, but it gets high marks from true BBQ fans.

Legendary Bbq sandwhich to be had here. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy so keep your head on a swivel - and bring Cash or you won't eat!

Payne's is one of the great BBQ places that only Memphians really know about. It's a hole in the wall, but they make some of the best BBQ in Memphis. Perfect for lunch but closed on Sunday.
