What a romantic place: Antica Osteria di Meati!! Here you can breathe the history of this place, many years ago countrymen with their horses stopped to eat and relax, looking at the beautiful hills called " Colline Lucchesi ". Even now you can find the same welcome. Not far from the medieval " Mura di Lucca " ( Walls of Lucca ) you'll find this antique place, full of green, with trees, hills, and where you can taste dishes of Lucca tradition. Near Lucca there is a country called " Garfagnana ": from here come wonderful products such as Farro ( a kind of cereal ), Funghi Porcini ( our beloved mush- rooms ), Pecorino ( one of the best kind of cheese ), Farina di Castagne( chestnut flour ). From Alpi Apuane comes our Lardo di Colonnata, with its inimitable taste, while from Massaciuccoli Lake ( loved by Puccini ) come our eels and game. In Meati you can also taste the best fresh fish from Versilia." What kind of wines goes with this dish? Don't worry! We have a wide range of kind of wine, " Montecarlo " to " Colline Lucchesi "...Just ask!....The Lucchese oil is famosus in the world.
