Arguably serving he best steaks in Australia. Black Cow Bistro is the sister restaurant to the 14 hatted Stillwater restaurant in Launceston. It's not cheap, but if you're celebrating there are few better places (apart from Stillwater). Winner of best Wine List for 2018.
Local Australian cuisine, steakhouse. Dishes are designed around fresh local produces and served in a warm bistro style atmosphere alongside premium Tasmanian wines.
Delicious steak but at the higher end of the price scale. Black Cow is a warm intimate restaurant suited to couples and groups. Excellent customer service.
“This is a 14 hatted restaurant and one of the best dining experiences you can have in Launceston. An elegantly restored 1830s flour mill on the beautiful Tamar River is home to Stillwater, one of Launceston’s finest restaurants. Original Oregon beams and blond timber floors bring warmth to Stillwater’s already majestic setting, comprising of an original bluestone wine cellar, Georgian miller’s cottage for private dining and a courtyard for alfresco drinks and snacks.”
“This reserve offers you unique views and experience of a gorge. A lot to explore and this a must visit place in Launceston.”
“Henry's is probably best suited to 30+ years. It doesn't seem to get overly busy so you won't need to be pushing through crowds. The bar is really nice and the meals there are brilliant. I would recommend Henry's for a romantic meal or with a small group of friends. My girlfriends and I sometimes go for drinks and canapes, they usually have specials on a Friday night and live music.”
“Upscale locale in an Edwardian terrace offering gourmet Italian dishes crafted from local produce.”
“This vineyard offers great wine tasting experience and great offers for their awards winning wines. My favourite would be Chardonnay and Pinot Noir but also try their sparking if you are a Champagne lover. This vineyard also have a award winning French style restaurant (Awarded One Chef Hat in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Australian Good Food and Wine Guide. ) and you would enjoy whatever they put on the menu. Head chef Nick Raitt was a personal chef for the Royals of Oman, cooking for HRH the Queen, along with other Royals and political leaders. Returning to Sydney in 2009, Nick led the kitchens at 'Public Dining Room', 'Steel', and 'La Scala', cooking a full spectrum of cuisine styles from modern gastronomy, to charcoal and wood-grill cookery as well as classical Italian. ”
