This place is great. A must see in Athens. Marvellous collection of Greek artefacts from prehistory to late antiquity. Do not pass by: the gold funeral mask of Agamemnon; the bronze statue of Zeus; the frescos from antique Santorini; the terracotta figurine "The Thinker"; the Marathon Boy; the…

“A gem in the heart of Athens, that everyone should visit! This museum sits directly over some of the excavated surrounding villages of the Acropolis. Many beautiful artifacts are displayed plus this is the museum for many original pieces from the Acropolis too. Its a great resource which is extremely well presented as it gives a very tangible way of seeing the actual reliefs of the Parthenon spacially presented and up close including copies of the Elgin Marbles in the British Museum. Inside you’ll have breathtaking viewpoints from 360 windows. It’s one of most modern museum I’ve ever seen! There’s also a bar inside with a pretty big balcony and of course with a surprising view!”
“One of the two parks of central Athens. Great for strolls, yoga, dog walking and nice for kids too. ”
“One of the seven wonders of the world! Must go! Bring water and wear the right shoes because the stones can get slippery. Also, choose the right weather considering there isn’t much shaded places to hide. If you’re coming on winter, it is windy, so dress accordingly.”
“The best view of Athens. Once the sun goes down definitely the best view in all of Athens with the lights of the city stretching out in all directions. There is an underground funicular going up the hill. ”
“Amazing historic place where the first modern Olympics were held. It's wonderful stadium, very old and the only one made totally of marble! Huge history and very interesting fact that it's still been used for festivals, the final step of the Marathon run. Awesome. So if you want to try to run on this stadium, you can do it ( about 5 euro for this opportunity).”
