Picturesque park with a viewing deck, grassy area & playground, plus tables & a basketball court. Fletcher Cove Beach is a small, sandy beach set within a secluded cove. The beach is a popular spot for swimming, surfing and kayaking. Fletcher Cove, also locally known as Pillbox because of its history as a WWII Gunnery installation, is the main park within Solana Beach. Facilities There are public showers and restroom facilities, picnic tables and a basketball court located on top of the bluffs next to the Marine Safety Department Headquarters. Parking Fletcher Cove Park beach offers easy public access. A free public parking lot is located at the Cove. The lot is open daily from 6am until 10pm.
