Super warm and tasty Vietnamese food, one of my favourite local places to eat.
Small homestyle Vietnamese cafe. The food is excellent and cheap. Only small so may have to wait for a table but also do Takeaway.
This is a fairly new joint on the Lower Clapton Road, serving really delicious Vietnamese food. There's only a handful of tables so you're probably better off doing a takeaway! Worth ringing them with your order and picking up later so you don't wait too long.
Super simple, tiny Vietnamese place around the corner serving amazingly fresh summer rolls, pho soups and traditional grilled meat vermicelli (tofu option available). If too busy (they only have 12-14 seats), you can just get a takeaway. You can bring own wine or beers.
“Owner Eleanor's little award-winning bookshop is incredibly well stocked, and hosts great book events in the evening. If you can't find what you're looking for, order it and they'll usually get it for the next day. Boycott Amazon and shop local!”
“One of the best Thai places in London in my opinion! It's a small place so book ahead if you are going late in the week or weekend. Try the butter fried chicken!”
“Spandeli is a Spanish food shop and delicatessen in Hackney offering typical Spanish products such as ColaCao, sangría, hand-carved ibérico bellota ham, cheese and cured meats. We also offer sourdough baguette sandwiches freshly prepared, as well as platters and snacks for your tapas parties.”
“This is a great restaurant which is close by. The do a range of dumplings and other small dishes, such as glazed pork belly in sweet soy glaze, buttermilk chicken wings with honey soy glaze and MaPo Tofu with Shitake mushrooms. It is amazing and so tasty. One of my favourite restaurants in the area, in fact in London! You will definitely leave feeling full. ”
“This totally unassuming café-restaurant is a lovely spot for a casual meal. Food is generally Mediterranean, and while simple, it was tasty every time I visited. They were great at accommodating a somewhat unorganised large-ish crowd at my birthday once, and our occasional neighbours’ night out. Child friendly too!”
