Awesome speakeasy on U Street corridor. Advance reservations recommended if planning to visit on a weekend night.

You have to make a reservation at this "speakeasy" (and don't forget to bring your ID!) but it's totally worth it. No food but a host of very creative drinks in a cozy, candle lit, elegant and intimate adult environment that's great for conversation. There is an outdoor bar if it's a nice night, but there is a time limit and if they're busy, when your time is up you may need to cede your seat to the next reservation.

The speakeasy/cocktail bar does not have a sign outside of it, so search for the door carefully.
