Just down the road you can find the magical Wonderland Trail - a very light and short hike down a wide path through the woods, which leads to the shore to explore! Walk the rocks, check tide pools, enjoy the views. A real treat for all ages.
This is one of my favorite place on the island. At low tide, it is expansive, with thousands of exposed rocks and hundreds of tide pools to explore.
Near Seawall. Trail is about 1.5 miles round trip. Fairly level, easy path for children. It starts inland, going through the woods, and ending at the ocean where they can explore the tidal pools at low tide. Take a picnic lunch with you. Just be sure to follow the park motto " Leave no trace…
We love this short walk through the woods that ends up on a beautiful open ocean beach! Plan to spend time just sitting on the rocks, taking in the beauty of our island.
“A loop trail up a small mounting. The whole loop takes a hour or less with a gorgeous view of the sound from the top. ”

“It is a pretty spot, great for young kids and usually you have the place to yourself.”
“Captain Karl and his wife Sandra hands down provide the best sailing experience on MDI. You can choose from a private charter or shared trip in the morning, afternoon, or at sunset. Sail Acadia boasts sailing on historic Maine-built Friendship Sloops, which are single-masted boats originally used for lobstering. A totally different (better) experience than larger sailboats. Just trust me on this one, you won’t be disappointed! Check out their website for other boating experiences they offer.”
