Echo Canyon Trailhead
The most popular and challenging trail to do in Phoenix, it's on the opposite side of Camelback mountain as viewed from our front yard
For more experienced hikers - it will take a good half of the day, but invigorating and you get rewarded with a 360-degree view of Phoenix once you summit! Take lots of water, get there early in the day.
This trail is an intense and difficultanaerobic hike to the 1.23 miles to the summit.
Ascending Camelback Mountain via Echo Canyon Trail is about as good as it gets. Of course, the whole world knows this, so my recommendation is to do this during the week when school is in session. If you go on the weekend be prepared to wait for parking.

“A very short hike (less than half a mile) to a picturesque lookout on phoenix. It’s in Papago park, which has tons of picnic gazebos and lots of walking trails. Close to the botanical gardens. ”
“Nearby and has amazing views! The main summit trail is a black diamond(very difficult) but has multiple stops along the way. also plenty of other options in the park for easier trails”
