grand central is a great place to visit, but while there make sure to stop by the open area in front of the oysters bar to check out the whispering corners. You can speak into the corner of one side and it can be heard in the opposite corner.

It's silly, BUT IT REALLY WORKS. The Whispering Gallery never fails to impress. Bonus: get some fresh oysters at Oyster Bar, the entrance is tucked between the tiled arches.

Fun sound phenomenon at Grand Central Station: Teach your kids how sound can travel magically from one corner of an arched crossway to the one diagonally across, by each facing opposite corners and exchanging whispered messages. The „Whispering Gallery“ is near the Oyster Bar entry.
