From the outside, there's nothing extraordinary about this Mission district restaurant, but the moment you walk inside, it’s like, "Where am I?" It just screams romance. It's sensual, hip, and it feels like you're in your own little zone. The food is decadent, and every little detail feels like an aphrodisiac. If you can, get a table on the patio. The lights strung overhead and the classic movie playing silently on one wall create a vibe that’s so romantic.
Notable restaurant that has exceptional food and offers a lively atmosphere. Advance reservations are required.
Wonderful restaurant, great food in a great atmosphere. You may even catch a movie!
“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”
“Cocktails are the best. Ask for the Field Guide to Birds menu. Get there early and sit outside unless you're already hearing impaired. Inside the music is loud and guests shout to be heard. ”
“Dosas are kind of like Indian crepes and they are delectable! A little pricey for what you get but a unique and delicious take on Indian food”
“Finalist for best restaurant in the country a couple of years ago. Book weeks in advance or swing by after 9:30 and sit at the communal table. ”
