If you are looking for something off of Diners, Driveins, & Dives check out Strawn’s for breakfast or lunch. The ice-box pies have been featured in Southern Living multiple times. They have multiple locations but we recommend the original location at 125 Kings Highway in Shreveport.
There are like 9 Strawns around town but THIS is the original, and it makes a difference. Come early, plan on it being VERY crowded, but unlikely you will have any wait for a table. The food is southern, fattening, and certainly over priced BUT --- "it's Strawn's" and if you don't go you might…
Local low key classic breakfast spot. Most famous pies in town. Apparently was used in a few films back a few years ago?
“Another Food Truck turned successful Restaurant - Ki is one of my absolutely favorites in Shreveport...and I'm not the only one. On a busier day you will be lucky to find a place to sit - good thing tacos are a hand held food! Try the bar side when they have live music for a really eclectic experiences for all the senses!”
“Sci-port is a discovery center that engages people of all ages with mathematics, science, and technology. It is a favorite among local kids and adults alike! (they also have an IMAX movie theatre!)”
“Ironically, we don't eat a ton of cajun food, but when we do, this is the spot to go!”
“Look, I know you came to Shreveport, but once you enter the pathways behind Norton, you are transported. The Museum is great, the art and bronze statues, but what is behind the Norton is literally superb. There are statues, flora and fauna, water features and paths to wander. It is spectacular. Shady and cool besides the water reservoirs, you may find ducks, birds and fish as your walking mates.”
“Great local brewery that originated in Shreveport and has distribution through multiple states. The tasting room is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-9pm and Saturdays 12-9pm. They don’t serve food at the brewery but normally will have food trucks out front on Fridays and Saturdays. Located at 1251 Dalzell Street. ”
