Very occasionally it's possible to walk from Tenby to Saundersfoot on the sand, with Monkstone being about halfway. By car, parking is limited but this may be the reason why you might have the beach to yourself. It's a large and very lovely stretch of sand.

A walk from Castaway - about 4 miles. Walk back up to the main road and go straight across and down the hill. When you meet the Coastal Path turn left and follow this path all the way to an intersection of about 4 different path routes with wooden finger posts. Its a great walk offering some amazing views of Tenby, as you look back, so be sure to keep checking over your shoulder as you climb a grassy field to one of the higher points of the walk. Its about two miles in all to the 4 way intersection with some great ups and downs that will get the heart rate up a bit!! Once at the intersection you can go down the zig zag path to the beach itself or take a left to Trevayne Farm (look for the camper vans to your left and aim for them). Walk through Trevayne Farm yard, which is a lovely scenic camp site as well as a working farm, and then along the tarmac road that takes you back to New Hedges village. As you get to the village turn left, walk through the village and back to the main road and Garden Meadows Park. Around 4 miles and the ups and downs of the coast path are a good challenge.
