“Ironically, we don't eat a ton of cajun food, but when we do, this is the spot to go!”
“Sci-port is a discovery center that engages people of all ages with mathematics, science, and technology. It is a favorite among local kids and adults alike! (they also have an IMAX movie theatre!)”
“Great local brewery that originated in Shreveport and has distribution through multiple states. The tasting room is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-9pm and Saturdays 12-9pm. They don’t serve food at the brewery but normally will have food trucks out front on Fridays and Saturdays. Located at 1251 Dalzell Street. ”
“Amazing collection of art, with a focus on art history, specifically impressive is the American art collection, colonial America (Benjamin Franklin dinner plates…I mean nothing gets my appetite going more than BF)…the American west and western expansion era…the Albert Bierstadt (of the Hudson River School) paintings of which I think there at least two and maybe three, alone, are worth stopping in and admiring. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery houses an exceptional collection of art spanning more than four millennia. Since its opening in 1966, the museum has become particularly well-known around the country for its impressive collections of works by those titans of western art, Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell. The park is so beautiful, Japanese maples grace the grounds, a brook runs through it and there are many life size wildlife sculptures that are scattered throughout the park. The azalea festival happens every spring and the park is ablaze in various shades of pinks and reds.”
“Another Food Truck turned successful Restaurant - Ki is one of my absolutely favorites in Shreveport...and I'm not the only one. On a busier day you will be lucky to find a place to sit - good thing tacos are a hand held food! Try the bar side when they have live music for a really eclectic experiences for all the senses!”
