It’s exciting cycling along the canal here with my daughter on the front of my bike. There’s a skate park and two imaginative playgrounds, one for younger kids and one with big slides (put sand on to make them faster!). In summer try the splash pool, fishing, boating lake, gigs at the bandstand, and puppet shows. Make a day of it by starting with scrambled eggs or Sri Lankan breakfast of coconut pancakes with chutneys at the child-friendly Pavilion Cafe nearby, or buy picnic stuff from the shops on Lauriston Road and set up lunch as soon as the kids are hungry.
A bit further along the canal past Broadway Market this is a wonderful large park, often filled with runners and dogs. It has a nice cafe, is surrounded by canals, and is one of the wonderful things about living in Hackney.
Amazing park for all ages - park, picnics, tennis courts, football, cricket, pubs, skate park, plenty of grass area for dog walking.
One of London's most popular parks, a great place to relax, go for a walk, jog or cycle, or just hang out at one of the two cafes.
Victoria Park is huge and lovely to stroll round. On Sunday lunch there are food trucks next to the canal
Take a walk around the park, take a trip on the pedal boats and then pop into the pavilion for tea and cake.
This is the biggest park in East London with many amenities and green spaces.
Great park where it's possible to run along the perimeter and along the Regent's canal
One of the magnificent Royal parks of London. From the Broadway market, walk along the canal to reach the Victoria Park. Great pub with food and a garden.
“Market on Saturdays, lovely to visit the market and go for a nice stroll in the park afterwards.”
“A must on a Sunday even if you are not planning on buying flowers - lots of quirky independent shops and nice places for coffee or brunch”
“Currently closed for refurbishment. This museum is part of the Victoria & Albert, but in a separate location and dedicated to all things related to childhood, including extensive collections of toys and dollhouses, with exhibits that will appeal to both young and old.”
“Really good cinema with local feel. Great bar and cafe too. Book online before you go. You can get her eby taking the W15 bus”
