Great family activity where you could spend half the day. Explore the cave, visit the museum, play at the playground, feed the animals, try out the maze with kiddos can earn small prizes along the way. This was my son's favorite activity! The gift shop is wonderful too.

The Olentangy Indian Caverns are a series of caves, natural passages and rooms occupying three different levels. The caverns were formed millions of years ago by an underground river that cut through the limestone rock. They were used by the Wyandotte Indians as a refuge from the weather and from their enemies the Delaware Indians. Artifacts found in the caverns indicate that it was used by the Wyandotte as late as 1810. The Olentangy Indian Caverns are located at 1779 Home Road, Delaware, Ohio and are open seasonally for tours.

For the explorer in your family, Olentangy Indian Caverns is an awesome experience. Millions of years ago, an underground river carved a channel through this section of Delaware County, leaving behind a series of caverns with incredible geology. Evidence has been found to indicate that the Delaware Indians used the caverns for centuries as shelter from inclement weather and to hide from enemies. Olentangy Indian Caverns also features a petting zoo, mini golf, gem mining, and more. Expect to spend a few hours here.
