Abbots Pool is a secret hideaway not too far from us which has a lovely lake that you can should you wish, swim in. There are picnic tables around as well, plus trails to walk. We visited recently for the first time and it is lovely. There is some parking just by the entrance.

Lovely small lake - nice to walk around in the winter and, though it says no swimming, people go wild-swimming there in the summer without any hassle.

Beautiful, peaceful walk. Also close to the George Inn for a drink or food.
