The Castle Cinema
Lovely independent cinema with a stylish bar. They do great coffee, wine and beer - which you can take in to the cinema in real glass! Classy.
A tiny cinema with a big personality, it was opened fairly recently with a crowdfunded campaign. A great local hangout in the heart of Lower Clapton.
Beautifully restored art deco cinema and bar that screens independent films.
Our local (crowdfunded) independent cinema. Has two small screens and super comfy seats and sofas. Often runs children's films on Saturday and Sunday mornings if you need a chance to chill out. Also has a great bar and coffee. Check their website to see what is showing.
“This is my favourite local restaurant. Really good food with nice atmosphere. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have tables both inside and outside :)”
“Spacious light-filled cafe overlooking the park. Excellent breakfast - Mediterranean style eggs and sausages, cinnamon and cardamom buns, cakes. Excellent coffee!”
“Amazing modern fusion dumplings and Chinese food. Very and lively cool restaurant with great little cocktail bar downstairs. They don't take booking so prepare to wait or show up at less busy hours. ”
“Weekend DJs, a courtyard garden and stone-baked pizzas make this trendy pub popular with locals. ”
“This is where you’ll find the best coffee in Clapton, Hackney and even beyond – if you’re a fan of dairy-free milk options, that is, as this café is completely vegan. Lele’s serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and weekend brunch in a cosy light-filled space – think superfood-packed yoghurt pots and salads, hearty full English fry-ups (still vegan, of course), ‘cheesy’ toasties and an array of vegan patisserie delights.”
