State / Provincial Park
Tryon Creek State Natural Area
Looking for a beautiful hike? This is the perfect place! Dog friendly, easy parking, and so much nature to appreciate!
Great place for a walk in the woods. Lots of easy trails. Ranger station and gift shop.
Saved from development is now a nice way to escape to the Forest. See my photo for a suggested 2.5 mile walk. Can be very muddy in winter. Dogs allowed on leash.
“The Frank Manor and campus are beautifully maintained -points of interest. Nearby is Tryon Creek Park and nature center. At Burlingame area nearby there is Market of Choice, Starbucks, Chez Jose Mexican food and more.”
“Bookstores are a dying breed, but there's a good reason Annie Bloom's is still in business. Check it out to see why.”
“Warm, family-friendly brewpub with wood decor & natural light, featuring burgers & house-brewed beers. Probably our favorite local restaurant”
“Pretty much forgotten park but a nice place to go for a city hike. The trails are essentially unmarked, same with any parking, so you could get lost, but no worries, just aim downhill and you'll find the river eventually.”
“You've already been to the coffee chains - try something special. Unique and extensive drink flavorings, milks, and almost any customization you can think of - but not pretentious or over-priced. Just good coffee, and a few other things. Your trip to the village is not complete without a stop in here.”
