You can drive up to the top, or hike up along one of the loop trails to experience stunning 360 views of Sedona from the airport mesa vortex.
To see the most incredible sunsets in all of Sedona, drive up to Airport Mesa 15-20 minutes before sunset and watch the magic unfold before your very eyes. I have seen sunsets all over the world, but none compare to this one!
Best spot in Sedona to watch the sunset. It also connects to a bunch of great trails.
A major vortex with panoramic views but the trail is for the sure footed & fairly challenging. Gets packed & is usually hard to park at the lower level, may have to go to the top & park & follow the trail down.
Airport Vortex Trail parking is on your left as you drive half-way up Airport road.
“A relatively flat trail that explores a somewhat shaded and cooler canyon floor. ”
“Urban burger and empanada joint! Always satisfying!!! The Impossible Burger was recently added to their menu which should not be overlooked. Save me a seat -- as we at here all the time -- they recently expanded indoor seating and added a stage for live music.”
“My favorite meal on their outside patio is their breakfast burrito. We bring our dog and he gets a treat when we go!”
“Situated alongside an apple orchard, Slide Rock is 80 feet long and 2.5 to 4 feet wide, with a seven percent decline from top to bottom. Algae on the rocks creates the slippery ride. The world-famous slide is an 80 foot-long slippery chute that is worn into sandstone. Very popular especially on weekends, so get there early in the morning to get a parking place.”
