Great hiking, swiming , boat rental, Very woodsey, Cleanest lake in Arkansas. Super place to picnic too.

Arkansas' largest lake, surrounded by Ouachita National Forest with no development around it. Hiking trails, campgrounds and picnic tables around. Call the marina to rent boats or join one of the 90-minute boat cruises run by the parks service for only $10/person.

Lake Ouachita is wild and natural, a world apart from busy Lake Hamilton. Our favorite hike is the 4-mile Caddo Bend trail, which will take 2+ hours through the hills along the lake peninsula. There are also boat rides and events at the Park, so check the state park website for info. In the winter, they have boat tours to see nesting Bald Eagles that winter at the Lake. Dog Friendly hikes, free. One of the absolute prettiest lakes in Arkansas. Pack a lunch and spend the day there.

largest freshwater reservoir in Arkansas, marinas for boat rentals, picnic, and hiking, beaches for swimming. Beautiful spring and river fed lake.
