The permanent collection is excellent, but they also have top visiting exhibitions. I often visit on weekends and take my kids—they have a fantastic family program. Alongside every exhibition here is a learning space for younger visitors where they can be tactile and engage without touching the art. They have a spectacular rooftop cafe with some of the best views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in the city. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy coffee and cake or a glass of wine and lunch. It’s nice to go on Wednesdays when it’s open late—along with the rest of the gallery.

Really good collection with a fair rotation to pique your interest; wonderful cafe on the roof with fab views. Jump on the Tram down the street to Circular Quay and you'll be there in no time

Always have strong exhibitions. Team this with a visit to The Rocks as that’s where the gallery is located.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) is one of Australia's most famous museum. Its goal is to exhibit, collect and interpret contemporary art from Australia and from the rest of the world. With various thematic exhibitions, events, painting and sculpture, the MCA program covers the range and diversity of contemporary art.

This museum is solely dedicated to exhibiting, interpreting and collecting contemporary art, both from across Australia and around the world. It is housed in the art deco-style former Maritime Services Board Building on the western edge of Circular Quay.
