If You like watching start and also learning something new or interesting about space this is the right place to go to. This place is special because it is located in the middle of the city center but is still isolated enough and in dark to enjoy the stars unobstructed by city lights.

Unique in its position for several reasons: -it was built on a monumental monument -located in the city center, 50m from the beach and 100m from the beach -elevated on the hill of Glavica and surrounded by a pine forest ring provides 100% darkness

Makarska observatory and Astro-park form a unique scientific and tourist component of Makarska. Apart from being the youngest observatory in the Republic of Croatia, it is unique for several more reasons: it was built on an existing monument, it is located in the town center on a small hill, 50 m from the waterfront and the town beach, and in comparison with other observatories on the Adriatic, it is closest to the sea. The Makarska observatory was implemented in the memorial center of the World War II, built in 1974 in honor of all fallen soldiers from Makarska and the Makarska Riviera.

Built on the site of a World War II monument, Makarska’s Astronomical Observatory is open after dark when you can look at the stars and planets in the sky.
