Cross river in multiple places on the trail-- great place for horseback riding too! Over in Fallbrook, about 20 mins from house.

This is a nice hike, great place to bring a picnic. Probably half is shaded. Its pretty flat, with a few areas to climb around. I've only gone as far as the swimming area, which is about 30 min. in. You pard in this parking lot, and walk/hike through this beautiful forest and you'll meet a few people with dogs, and lots of friendly other hikers, and then all the the sudden it opens up to the really nice water area with people playing in the water to cool off, kids in their bathing suits. This is a nice easy hike. I'd recommend. I like to do this earlier or later in the day. Pretty close :)
