Fonart represents the National Fund for the Development of Handcrafts, and in addition to providing support to artists and artisans, the group manages several boutiques that stock the best and most beautiful goods that represent the rich array of Mexico's creative traditions. Items to look for include pottery and claywork (check out the colorful, intricately crafted árboles de vida, or trees of life), weaving, and metalwork.
