Food Scene

Jack Rabbit is open for brunch and lunch seven days, as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. It's very popular, so you'll need to book in advance. The views of the bay are spectacular, and it's a 3-minute drive from our place.

Terindah Estate is right next to Jack Rabbit, and offers slighty more upmarket food and drink. 'The Shed' is open for lunch Thursday to Monday, and 'The Deck' is open daily, offering small plates and platters. Like Jack Rabbit, they have spectacular views of the bay, and it's the perfect place to sit and enjoy some local wines.

A great little cafe/restaurant that is off the beaten track. A converted roadhouse, it's easy to miss, but a stunning interior makes it a great place for a long lunch. It's a short drive from our place, heading towards Queenscliff. They are open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday to Sunday, and also do dinner on Saturday nights. They focus on local and seasonal food, and most of their produce comes from local suppliers.

Recently refurbished, this historic hotel is a must for a meal, or drink on the balcony. Bookings are recommended for the bistro, but the outdoor (covered) atrium is great for walk-ins.

Great little deli and cafe, run by a couple of legends. Amazing food and coffee, and heaps of gourmet options from local producers.

Our favourite place for a casual meal and few drinks. Great food, drinks and outdoor seating areas, this place gets busy, so best to book ahead. Just a note they don't allow kids, so best arrange a babysitter.

The Ozone was commissioned in 1886 in Scotland. At 79 metres, and slightly under 600 tonnes, the Ozone was considered one of the finest ships of her type at the time. With three decks, the Ozone could hold up to 3000 passengers, though was licensed to hold 1600 when operating as a passenger ferry in Port Phillip Bay. After 32 years of service the Ozone was decommissioned in 1918, and stripped of her fittings. In 1925, the Ozone was scuttled at Indented Head to create a breakwater. The Ozone is now a popular attraction for snorkelling and an easy swim.
