Have to say this is one of my favourites too. The gardens are spectuacular and the house itself is beautifully kept. It is not run down as you see a lot of places and you come away feeling you have enjoyed a full day, not spent a fortune and have actually learnt something. Great drive too and places to stop and eat before you return home.

Have to say this is one of my favourites too. The gardens are spectuacular and the house itself is beautifully kept. have to say if you love a Country show then the Alresford show in early September is a must. Horses, dogs, cows, machinery old and new......it is a lovely end to the summer and children go free!

Beautiful pub / restaurant located outside Old Thorns hotel and spa which I believe also has a golf club. Great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere. In the summer then also have special weekends of cars, live music and events which attract many celebs. The manager is our friend so if you would like a table let me know! Child friendly too.

Drinks & Nightlife
From Zizzi's to Wagamama's or even Tiger Tiger Gunwarf provides for every group no matter what time of day. The only down side is the cost of a taxi back which after midnight can be over fifty pounds!

Sightseeing
Once the old capital of England Winchester boats something for everyone. If you are lucky to be around in December you HAVE to book to skate at the Cathedral and visit the Christmas Market. The setting is wonderful but a lot less crowded then London but all the atmosphere.

9 The ClOnce the old capital of England Winchester boats something for everyone. If you are lucky to be around in December you HAVE to book to skate at the Cathedral and visit the Christmas Market. The setting is wonderful but a lot less crowded then London but all the atmosphere.
Parks & Nature
Butser Hill is the opposite side of the A3 and offers adventures and nature on the door step. It is also 2 minutes from Butser Ancient Farm which is also another tourist attraction. Driving from the house if you head towards West or East Meon there are plenty of places to park up and enjoy the sights or the Meon Valley and have an explore. Queen Elizabeth park which is where Butser Hill is located also has open days on Bank Holiday weekends and activities for the children. I believe the butterfly in the apple tree by the granary was made there.

So much goes on in this area over the summer from Moto Cross to music festival. Check out the area also know as Cheesefoot Head. A great place to walk too.

After an afternoon at the Revival there is nothing better than sitting in a small pub call The Royal Oak watching all of the old and new cars pass as well as seeing all the old RAF planes flying over head. Simply stunning whatever even you decide to visit although I have to say I think the Revival was one of my favourites. My children loved this also. Having a chance to get dressed up, the different actives available and also an element of history all rolled out into a good day in the West Sussex countryside.

The most beautiful race course in the world without a doubt. A wonderful experience whether you are having a track day, a flying lesson, attending the races, Festival of Speed or the revival. Something for everyone and at very good prices. After an afternoon at the Revival there is nothing better than sitting in a small pub call The Royal Oak watching all of the old and new cars pass as well as seeing all the old RAF planes flying over head. Simply stunning whatever even you decide to visit although I have to say I think the Revival was one of my favourites. My children loved this also. Having a chance to get dressed up, the different actives available and also an element of history all rolled out into a good day in the West Sussex countryside.
Shopping
Midhurst and Petworth area are definitely worth an explore I would say not necessarily with young children. The Polo is played in Midhurt and is definitely worth a visit whilst Petworth has a stately mansion set in National Park along with some great antique shops.
