I'm a vegetarian (you may have guessed per my recs) BUT I have heard many many good reviews from trusted sources in regards to the BBQ spot.. if I ate meat, I would be all over this spot.

Taco truck right outside of the apartment! These tacos are AMAZING. Don't even think about ordering a gyro from the truck that is usually parked next to Don's, you will sorely regret it. I usually order the Sope (open faced taco with avocado) for like $2, so get 2!

The only solid "late night" cafe that I have located near to my apartment. Open until 9pm, the staff is always really friendly and it's usually pretty easy to find a comfortable seating area to work without being overcrowded. If you're there an hour before close, the staff will usually offer up freebie pastries to those who are working.

Open until 9pm, the staff is always really friendly and it's usually pretty easy to find a comfortable seating area to work without being overcrowded. If you're there an hour before close, the staff will usually offer up freebie pastries to those who are working.
Perfect for winter time! Call and make a reservation before hand, or plan accordingly for the 45 minute average wait time. The ramen is amazing so well worth it, but just be aware that this is a SPOT so there is always a wait.
If you plan to walk over the Williamsburg Bridge, this would be a good destination to walk to, especially in the winter time. What better reward for voluntarily freezing yourself for 25 minutes for the sake of awesome New York views, than a delicious bowl of Ivan Ramen? Not many things if you are crazy enough to choose to do that.

If you plan to walk over the Williamsburg Bridge, this would be a good destination to walk to, especially in the winter time. Buy your tickets in advanced, one movie showing per night. Really unique space, Gatbsy vibes throughout the bar, and cushioned benched seating with table service in the theater.

If you're into the outdoors, check out this spot! The best retail for those who are fashion forward but like to get the most function out of their wardrobe. A unique collection of European, Japanese, and American made products that for the most part cannot be found any where else.

Very well organized, color and fabric style coded. There is also a really dope vintage interior home goods store located immediately next to the store.

If it's not too hot or too frigidly cold out for a nice 25 minute walk or 15 minute bike ride, consider walking or riding over the Williamsburg Bridge for some epic views of the city. The views are better on the bikers side, but be aware, most bikers (myself included) frown upon tourists walking on the designated biking side. There is a section in the middle of the overpass where you can cut across to the bikers side of the bridge for some good photo ops.
