Best Indian food in Longmont. We've been going here since 2007 and have loved it the entire time. We also bring and refer guests here and always have rave reviews.

They have a HUGE assortment of cake slices and other baked goodies. If you call ahead they'll even make European style baked goods. They'll make coffee in house, but their specialty is cake.

Good things are often found in small packages. This restaurant doesn't seat very many but they also do a great take out. They offer many vegan items, including house made vegan ice cream and coffee.

This is a sweet little cafe that serves a great breakfast and lunch. If you get lucky, you may be seated at the big table with the locals where you can discuss farm prices.

Sightseeing

They do a great, free tour and the tea shop is filled with the sorts of things one would expect in a tea shop (like tea things and tea). The on-premises restaurant serves good, inexpensive food to the employees and the visitors alike.

It's hard to categorize Scrumptious. They offer ice cream and other treats in-house, and sell every kind of candy, especially those hard to find items. All of the ice cream is made in the store. It's worth a visit, even if you just want 5 cents worth of candy, please.

Arts & Culture

Loveland parks are full of whimsical, beautiful and unique sculptures. Spend an hour or more wandering the serene paths around the small lake - or visit downtown or any of the other parks in Loveland to see great outdoor art.

This museum is not open very often, but worth a look if you happen to catch it. The Dougherty Museum houses a collection of beautifully restored antique automobiles, including models powered by steam, electricity and early internal combustion types. Many of the cars date back 100 years and are in running order. Hours are F, S, S 11-5, June-August only.

The museum is small but the exhibits are first class. There is always an ongoing exhibit covering the founding of Longmont. Thursday nights the museum offers movies and more, and you get to tour the current exhibit for the price of admission. Low admission rates around $8 per person. Check out the current exhibits and rates at http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/museum/

Shopping

This is one of the best shop for unique items for children under 10 I have ever visited. I get all my gift items for the children in my life - especially the little girls. Even if you don't know of any children, it's worth visiting for the whimsy of it all. And across the street is Adorn - the gift shop for the older people in your life (any one above 10).

Simply Bulk Market is one of my favorite places to buy all of my "dry goods" groceries and then some. They sell grains, herbs, spices, teas, legumes, dog food, candies, coffee and more, as well as soaps and other gift items.

Essentials

Great grocery store for its deli and grocery items. There are other places to buy better fruits and vegetables, but they supply the basics.

Parks & Nature

The name on the map says "Calkins Lake" but this body of water was renamed YEARS ago to Union Reservoir. (Frankly, we like Calkins Lake better.) No matter what you call it, it is the only swimming beach in Longmont and a great place to go when it's hot. The lake offers swimming, boating, and just relaxing. Boat rentals available (e.g., kayaks and more). There is a per car entrance fee of about $8. Check online for up to date rates and open times.

Walk the 3.5 mile loop trail or just lounge on the grass or a park bench. There are also tennis courts and picnic tables. This is a great spot on a warm day. You'll likely see ducks, herons, pelicans, and some days you may even see a bald eagle or two.

Everything Else

The recreation center's low rates even for out of towners makes it a great place to go swim, or use the fitness center, climbing wall or other activities. The city also maintains an outdoor pool (with sand beach), a lap pool, and two smaller pools for younger children, all at the same low rates. Check out all the details at the city's website: http://www.ci.longmont.co.us/rec/gen/lrc.htm
