The visitor center is just a few minutes away from our home, but is a great place to hike with miles upon miles of trails to explore.

The visitor center is just a few minutes away from our home, but is a great place to hike with miles upon miles of trails to explore.
Richardson Nature Center is on the other side of Bloomington but is perfect for easy hiking and taking in your peaceful surroundings.

This is our personal favorite lake in the Twin Cities. It has a great walking path around it that is approximately 3 miles that is lined with some very impressive homes. It has several beaches to relax and you can rent canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, etc.
During the summer season (memorial day to labor day) the Lake Harriet Bandshell has free nightly concerts at 7:30. It's a great place for a picnic.

Lake Calhoun is bikable from Lake Harriet and is a great place to spend an afternoon. You'll see people enjoying everything from sailing to volleyball. This is where I'd go to rent a paddle board for an afternoon.
