Best beaches in Hvar

It’s hard to pinpoint one best beach on Hvar, they are all so different and gorgeous. These are my favourite...

beach Pokonji dol

Pokonji dol is the nicest beach in Hvar town. It is a 20 minutes nice walk along the coast from Hvar town. You can also drive to Pokojni Dol and there’s a spacious free parking right next to the beach. There are two restaurants, sun beds & umbrellas for rent. From Pokonji dol you can easily walk a little bit further to Mekićevica beach or Robinson beach which are quieter and beautiful.

Pokonji dol is the nicest beach in Hvar town. It is a 20 minutes nice walk along the coast from Hvar town. You can also drive to Pokojni Dol and there’s a spacious free parking right next to the beach. There are two restaurants, sun beds & umbrellas for rent. From Pokonji dol you can easily walk a little bit further to Mekićevica beach or Robinson beach which are quieter and beautiful.

Some 8 km east from the city of Hvar on the south shore of the island of Hvar is situated the picturesque cove Dubovica, with a spacious pebble beach, crystal clear sea and interesting underwater landscape. It offers a vacation far away from the city noise with a view of the countryside house of the Kasandrić family from the 18th / 19th century. Dubovica can be reached by boat or a car. On the main road there is small carpark, from It is a 10 minutes walk down to the beach. On the beach there is one bar and one restaurant. There is no sun bed or umbrella rental.

On the rocky cliffs on the south side of Hvar is located the village of Zaraće, 6 km from the city of Hvar. At the foot of this small picturesque village there are two deep coves with pebble beaches, one facing east called Velo Zaraće and the other facing west called Malo Zaraće. The pebble beaches of Velo Zaraće and Malo Zaraće close impressive rocky cliffs, true natural beauties. Zaraće is, with its underwater landscape, an interesting destination for all underwater fans. Zaraće can be reached by boat or by car. There is one lounge bar & restaurant in Velo Zarace.
