One of Wales’ most popular heritage attractions, the museum stands in the grounds of St Fagans Castle and Gardens, a Grade I listed 16th-century manor house just outside Cardiff. Over 40 original buildings have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, giving a taste of Welsh life from different periods of history. They include a Tudor merchant’s house, farm, school, chapel and Workmen’s Institute.
St Fagans is very much a working museum with native breeds of livestock, demonstrations of farming tasks and a host of craftspeople displaying their skills, including blacksmiths, bakers and clogmakers.
