De Wallen "Red Light District" is the most famous of Amsterdam's neighbourhoods. It's the spot where the prostitution and cofeeshops are most visible and it draws tourists in large groups.
It is also the oldest part of town and extremely charming and beautiful.
If you leave Amsterdam without having been there you've missed something.
The Red lights district is generally safe. Be carefull with your wallets though!!!
