Unesco World Heritage Site is the largest bioreserve in the Western hemisphere and offers astounding beauty and an unforgettable experience. Travel on a pristine lagoon and float down an ancient Mayan canal and thoroughly relax enjoying the unique beauty this area offers. Easy access from main Hwy 307 on Km 205, 20 mins. south of Tulum (locate sign for entrance into Muyil ) on your left as you head south from our home. Highly recommend taking tour of Muyil (8am - 5pm) parking fee $45 pesos (cash only) : approximately 1 hour. This site is peaceful as not reached by mass tourism market. Walk to El Castillo (castle) and behind this large pyramid visitors can walk on nature trail -boardwalk to the boat docks. Follow sign in yellow that reads "SENDERO - MIRADOR _ LAGUNA" and walk about 5 mins . Visitors will find a large map with information regarding the expansive bioreserve. With 500 feet guests will encounter watchtower. Climbing this will reward visitors with a great view of Muyil's lagoon. Now comes the highlight of this adventure. Walk to the boat docks to find a boat tour that journeys across this spectacular crystal clear lagoon. The cost of the boat ride is fixed (cash only) $700 pesos , ($35-40 USD /person is accepted) but bring exact amount by exchange rate (change will be in pesos - at whatever the rate is at that time). The best part is allowing visitors their own private boat and enjoy spending time with locals (use itranslate on your phone for easy communication). There are over 300 species of birds so also enjoy looking at the sky (all birds in the Western hemsiphere nest in this region). Finally , this tour provides guest with life vests to float down an ancient Mayan canal. Bring a light snack & water along for this excursion. All who venture to this amazing site are rewarded with fabulous memories of nature's beauty.

Great seafood - all fresh catch of the day. Their grilled octopus is excellent and snapper when in season is fabulous. Service is also friendly., Credit Cards accepted. Small fee for parking (have pesos) in front of restaurant.

Great selection of pastas with fresh homemade sauce. My personal favorite : seafood mix. Also the best tiramisu you’ll ever have. Always a favorite: any pizza cooked in wood fire burning oven. Portions of pasta Are generous.
