Another award-winning vegetarian restaurant with a committed local following. You don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the menu - the food is incredible. And it is almost directly beneath the flat!

One of my favourite cafes, and the recent winner of Brighton's best loved cafe. Though this fact is reflected in its popularity. Can be hard to get a table! There's seating out the front too though :)

If it is possible for restaurants to have sex-appeal, then Plateau has it. Candle lit, fine wines, great staff. The perfect place for a romantic date, and no more than 30 seconds from the apartment.

Brighton is full of incredible, unique independents, so I don't often see the appeal in opting for a chain... but I'll gladly make an exception for The Ivy in the Lanes. Brighton is full of incredible, unique independents, so I don't often see the appeal in opting for a chain... but I'll gladly make an exception for The Ivy in the Lanes. Located in the Old Post Office, it is a cavernous space always brimming with guests and has unapologetically over the top opulence, with blinging crystal, gold, and floral designs. If you've got something special to celebrate, look no further.
One of Brighton's newest (and best) restaurants, the Permit Room is the creation of the celebrated Indian restaurant brand, Dishoom. The decor is mid-century, with low-lit lighting and incredible food. Best of all, it's on my street 😁

There are actually two Riddle and Finn's in the city. The original is in the Lanes, and is an intimate candle-lit affair. The other (the one noted) is larger and has a prominent position overlooking the sea. These are the best seafood restaurants in town

The Dome is set in the Pavilion Gardens, and hosts some of the biggest names in music. It's also beautiful inside. Randomly built before the Pavilion to stable a prince's horses originally.

The theatre is over 200 years old and still maintains its original grandeur. But the shows are always bang up to date. From Spamalot to Rocky Horror. Well worth a night out if you are into theatrics.

As a vegan, I'm not a massive fan of the aquarium, but my niece and nephew love it. It's also the world's oldest operating aquarium and they've made the most of its ornate 19th century design.

This late night venue is a bar, live music venue and nightclub, located beneath the station in a gritty backstreet. Much loved by Brighton's student population. Great fun, but can get a bit messy :)

Another of my favourite pubs. It looks like nothing has changed since about 1875 except the music & the members of the public. A mix of middle-aged dog owners and young, heavily tattooed Brightonians.

This queer club is poppy, trashy, and very very young. It is also strangely popular with straight allies these days too. But then, that's what's great about the city. Not many places are fully straight or fully queer. We all mix it up together :)

If you want a gay bar without the torture of disco lights and Madonna medleys then the Camelford is your best bet. It's a decent pub with a mixed crowd in the heart of Brighton's gay area.

Located just off of Brighton's shabby London Road, the Open Market has had a huge makeover in recent years as part of the area's regeneration project. Now vendors sell more craft ware than vegetables.
