The Ardington Millennium Wood was a project which involved the planting of a new woodland area and the construction of a stone sundial and representation of the solar system. It's a beautiful place for a walk. Then go on to the pretty village of Ardington with it's tiny church and friendly pub, or have a cream tea at the excellent Grocer Chef.

This tiny and unusual museum has an interesting history. It is housed in the nearly 400 year-old schoolroom that featured in Thomas Hughes’ book ‘Tom Brown’s School Days’. Combine it with a walk on White Horse Hill.

Shopping

Fantastic warren of secondhand books taking over the whole arcade. Run by a lovely local family. (Look out for the bric-a-brac stall supporting the local Silver Band, in which our two sons played - it's raised improbable thousands of pounds over the years for new instruments.)
