This is the worlds most photographed lighthouse. It is also in a great park with nice walking trails. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, it is certainly worth checking out on your way into Portland.

Once on the island there is a local shop to rent bikes from and you can cruise around the island and take in the sights of Casco Bay. There are lots of little beaches and secret spots you can find exploring the island.

There are rotating exhibits on the first floor, also the museum is free on Friday evenings 4-8pm. If you happen to be here on the first Friday of the month it will be the "First Friday Art Walk" where all the art galleries and museums are open for the evening and various street vendors and performers will be around town.
