Glenorchy is the gateway to many short or longer walks and also has a number of nice spots for lunch. You will find a comprehensive guide to local walks in the house.

This is a fantastic jet boat trip up the Dart River from Glenorchy which takes you into the stunning wilderness area of Mt Aspiring National Park.

Take a trip on the Earnslaw, Queenstown's historic steamship. Visit Walter Peak homestead on the other side of the lake for a farm tour, afternoon tea or a meal. This is a great trip for kids who like boats and engines as they can see the workings of the steamship in action. It is also good for history enthusiasts!
