This tiny place is across from Flying Biscuit is one of the best-kept secrets in the city. The wait is usually a fraction as long as that at Flying Biscuit and the food a bazillion times better! This tiny Candler Park culinary incubator is currently home to three different restaurant concepts. Gato Cafe serves breakfast Thurs.-Sun., 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and covers the usual breakfast fare in addition to lunchtime sandwiches like burgers and Reubens. Dinnertime Tues.-Thurs., 7-11 p.m. is the real of chef Allen Suh’s Gato Arigato pop-up. Suh serves Japanese-inspired dishes such as ramen made completely from scratch. Chef Jarrett Stieber’s Eat Me Speak Me pop-up takes over the space Sun.-Mon.

Because who doesn't love going to a restaurant in a an old, former Scottish Rite Hospital on a hill in Oakhurst Village, also housing shuffle board, pinball, bocce ball& corn hole? From the website: "The restaurant & bar harken a sense of Americana, speaking to nostalgia for idealized small town life & a simpler bygone time. This cultural heritage is closely tied to the fare served, embracing a creative take on American cuisine & crafted cocktails that showcase the use of local & regional products, but also emphasize authenticity, transparency, & quality. These efforts echo Scout’s curious passion for nature & the bounty it has to offer." scoutoakhurst.com

This is quiet little place that is loaded with character to enjoy crepes that's tucked away in a residential section, steps from the scene at Krog Street. The crepes are generous and delicious, the coffee is great, and there are pantry items for sale.

What we say: We love it! Its def not little kid friendly. It's casual, with an extensive bar menu. The restaurant is small. The outdoor patio is nice, and the food is good!!! Menu varies , which is great. Note: closed on Weds. What they say: Poor Hendrix is a casual neighborhood bar and restaurant located in the East Lake community of Atlanta. At the bar, we offer small plates of craveable food that pair perfectly with your favorite adult beverage and in the restaurant, you'll find simple, classic dishes that compliment an affordable but thoughtful wine list. Our bar and patio are 21+ but the restaurant is all-ages. We do have more of an adult vibe http://www.poorhendrix.com

Tacky religious iconogragophy paintings painted over with messages from Sister Louisa, reminding us to reject fear and divisive dogma to embrace truth and love. It is a fun, thoughtful and edgy place that hosts Ping Pong Tournaments at 9 on Mondays and Church Organ Karaoke on Wednesday nights at 10. "Come on in, Precious!" "IT IS OUR DUTY TO CATAPULT EACH OTHER INTO GREATNESS." - Sister Louisa CHURCH-- it's a bar.
