get away from the foggy coast--in the mountains with cool outdoor spaces and games (even pool table), and a small lake kiddos can paddle boat around in. often very busy and touristy, but catch at the right time of day or make a reservation upstairs and it's a cool spot

right at the bottom of the hill, easy to park along pch (be careful of traffic!), and walk along the beach
