Parking can be an issue downtown. There is parking, but I do not suggest using the lot unless you want to wait half an hour to leave once the concert is over.
Places to park:
1. You can park for free on or north of 3rd street (try close to Goat and Compass for a drink beforehand!).
2. Pay to park in any of the downtown parking garages and walk to the venue. Closest is the Convention Center Parking.
3. Park on the Port City Trolley route and take the trolley!

Paddle NC
1020 State Park RdThis is a special treat for any water sport enthusiasts. In Carolina Beach State Park, you can rent kayaks to explore down the Cape Fear River. Birdwatch, pull up on the beach for a picnic, or just relax along the reeds and breathe in the fresh ocean air.
I highly suggest doing one of these tours for a quick trip down Cape Fear that doesn't break the bank. There are many boat tours and sailing excursions around Wilmington that are fantastic. But for something short and sweet, especially if you're already downtown, try a water tour. These are about an hour long, provide a little history on the river and the port, and don't cost much at all. Grab your ticket at the dock, your drink onboard, and don't forget your camera!

We absolutely adore Savorez! They serve southern food with a latin flare. I've never had a bad dish, but highly suggest adding the sweet potato goat cheese guacamole to your order.

This is my favorite place to go for brunch. They have the best shrimp and grits in town, but you can't go wrong with their benedicts or chicken and waffles. And the bloody mary is a must have!

If you're craving a burger, definitely check out Winnie's Tavern. They even have a fantastic vegetarian option. If you like garlic, don't forget the garlic fries AND garlic aioli!
It's a 5 minute walk from your stay, but if you're in the walking mood, I don't suggest Burnett. There are back streets through the neighborhood that will safely get you there.

Parking Downtown
There is plenty of parking if you know where to look! I don't suggest using metered parking which can add up quickly unless it's after 6 when it's free.
Parking garages are easy and not too expensive. Plus, the first 90 minutes is free! If you're stopping for a quick bite, you won't be charged.
If you don't mind walking a few blocks, there is always free parking on or east of 3rd street.

When exploring downtown, don't miss a site because it's a long walk. Simply jump on the free trolley and make your way down Front Street. You can see the route and schedule at Wave Transit website under "Port City Trolley Schedule."
