City/town information

At the mouth of the river Canche, the elegant seaside resort of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is a must-see in the Pas-de-Calais. Pleasant in all seasons, come and enjoy invigorating strolls by the sea or on the long sandy beach. The amateurs of land sailing and kitesurfing will also have a great time. This charming town on the Opal Coast also has a beautiful Anglo-Norman architectural heritage represented by beautiful villas nestled in the pine forests. Moreover, a tour allows you to discover them as well as other prestigious buildings such as the town hall, a true architectural masterpiece. In total, there are 18 sites, all listed as Historic Monuments and some of which date back to the Roaring Twenties, which mark out this route. In the city center, the Canche lighthouse dominates from the top of its 57 meters. If the 274 steps don't scare you, don't hesitate to climb to the top! For a nature discovery, go to the Parc Nature de la Baie de Canche. Easily accessible by foot or by bike from the city center, walk through the dunes, the oyats or the pine forest. The forest is also home to a museum, housed in a 1930s residence, where nearly 800 works by local artists are on display. For relaxation, the thalassotherapy center of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is ideal for a stay around well-being and fitness. For the keen golfers they would love the two 18 holes course and the 9 holes course, the tennis players can enjoy the 24 clay courts and the horseriding enthusiasts will be thrilled by the fantastic installations of the equestrian centre.

The coastal path follows the northern tip to the birdwatching hide which overlooks the bay. From there, migratory birds can be observed as well as the seals that doze on the sandbanks at low tide. The trail then heads south along the dunes all the way to the end of the seafront, before returning to the sailing complex. Known as the “boucle de la corniche” (coastal path loop trail), this 3km itinerary takes approximately an hour and a half on foot.

Rent pushbikes to get around!

In the summer it's hard to find a parking space so when you have one it's best to keep it! Going around in pushbikes is the best way!
