This features a number of tourist attractions, such as Monnow Bridge (in the photograph), the market hall, the old court room, a museum and Norman churches St.Mary's and St. Thomas's, It offers a riverside walk, Chippenham park, and a skate park for the younger generation.

This is where you are staying!! There are lots of attractions in Whitchurch itself. There is a lovely old clock tower down by the village shop, and plenty of pubs and local walks, including along the river.

Another sleepy village with good pubs and a fantastic castle, only a short distance from the river Wye, with good free access at Kerne Bridge for launching canoes/paddleboards etc.

Another major city, which is around an hour's drive away. Plenty of things to keep children amused (We the curious / aquarium / Airhop indoor trampolining). Based on the Severn Estuary, it's also got a great quayside and a good place to see boats and ships

Only 75minutes away by car - Large, very flat beach, edged with rocks and rock pools. Easy access with a large car park, which never seems to be full and cheap to park all day. You can stay and watch it get dark ,as there is always access to exit the carpark, even after everything has closed, late at night. Very close to Porthcawl seafront. This beach is well-known for surfing and wind surfacing. As the beach is so flat, the tide comes in very quickly, and leave very little beach at high-tide, so check the tide times before you go!

Rest Bay
Only 75minutes away by car - Large, very flat beach, edged with rocks and rock pools. Easy access with a large car park, which never seems to be full and cheap to park all day. You can stay and watch it get dark ,as there is always access to exit the carpark, even after everything has closed, late at night. Very close to Porthcawl seafront. This beach is well-known for surfing and wind surfacing. As the beach is so flat, the tide comes in very quickly, and leave very little beach at high-tide, so check the tide times before you go!
Lovely, unspoilt beach. Shingle at the top of the beach with sands exposed when the tide isnt in. Be prepared for a bit of a walk between the carpark and the beach. There are also local attractions such as the castle, river and stepping stones.

A bit further away, but well worth the 90minutes it takes to reach, The Mumbles is one of the least spoilt beaches in Wales, The beach is beautifully sandy and only a very short walk from the car park

Voted one of the top 10 beaches in the WORLD, but because of it's location, it's not particularly busy and very unspoilt by tourism. Unfortuantely, a little further afield, this beach will take just over two hours to reach by car.
