Through a monumental entrance gate built in the nineteenth century by the Roermond architect P. Cuypers (Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam Central Station), you enter a historic park that is unique in the Netherlands because of the completely intact original Renaissance style.

You will find 2 hiking trails here, but also a nice route for cycling.
Be sure to check out the farmer's shop where they sell their own harvest and so you can do local, organic and special groceries.

Leersumse Veld
LeersumseveldThe Leersumseveld is a particularly beautiful nature reserve where you can walk beautiful hiking trails, but you can also hobble around for many kilometers on a horse or pony. The heath is beautiful and you can sit at the restaurant for a cup of coffee with farmer's cake for example. Hmmmmm
In the Huys (as the Castle was popularly called) you can admire the nobility library, the famous 17th century Van Mekeren cabinets and the so-called Wijts collection (consisting of 24 portraits of family members and officers). In addition, the Castle houses one of the three noble music libraries in the Netherlands. The thirteen meter high Gallery and the beautiful ceiling pieces in the Grand Salon are more than worth a visit.
Annebetjes tearoom
You can enjoy tea and coffee with locally made goodies on the terrace of Kasteelwinkel Annebetje in the Oranjerie. Or enjoy Countess Elisabeth's Raspberry Lemonade. She used to give it to Emperor Wilhelm II when he stayed at the castle during his exile.
Restaurant Bentinck
is a contemporary top restaurant located in the former stables of Amerongen Castle. At Bentinck, regional, healthy, tasteful and sustainable go hand in hand with attention to pure, honest (regional) products and flavours. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace with a view of Amerongen Castle and the stately forecourt. Please make a reservation, to make sure they have a table for you!

There are three basins on the approximately 4 ha site of the forest bath:

recreational pool into which the slide opens
competition pool of 25 meters with two diving boards

heated changing room with toilets and showers.
