You must buy a butter tart (or two...or three... or a dozen!) and show up as early as you can for the best selection of their breads. If you are making the drive specifically for bread, call ahead to reserve your order since they sell out sometimes by 2 pm. You're welcome :)

This is a sweet little spot to stop for a stellar coffee or latte in Simcoe. The owner is just the most lovely lady and it's just so nice here.

If you're a fan of Canadian Chinese food (fried everything!) you'll absolutely love this place, but I wouldn't recommend trying this out if you are looking for any authentic Chinese cuisine! The food is super delicious and well prepared and it's a really short drive into town.

3710 Norfolk County Hwy 59This is a countryside drive in with everything you'd expect and it's totally delicious. Hamburgers, hotdogs, amazing fries and onion rings, it's a great place to stop on your way down to the lake (just a few minutes detour) for some greasy delights.
Really great greek food and great service, it's your closest sit down restaurant. A bit pricey for how informal it is, but the ingredients and quality are top notch so it's definitely worth a try! Often they get too busy to order takeout so it's kind of hit or miss if you're looking to pickup, but it's a decent local place to dine.

It's a blast from the past in their storefront, but their donuts are out of this world (try the glazed croissant or apple fritter!) and so are pretty much everything else they make. They've got lots of seasonal specialties, but don't go if you're in a rush as the service is absolutely great but by no means fast.

If you like Motocross, you're incredibly close to this local gem. Founded in 1986, Gopher Dunes Inc. has grown into having the reputation of being Canada's toughest Motocross National along with hosting one of the biggest single day truck Mud bog's in North America.

This is our neighbouring town's kitch filled local museum all about tobacco, our biggest industry until a few decades ago. It's a great rainy day activity with lots of (suprisingly!) kid friendly activities going on from time to time - check out their website to see what's on. It's more about our agricultural heritage than anything, and it a really cute local museum set near the dam on beautiful grounds.

This place is one of the most loved local spots for arts & culture events. It's got a small gallery on the main floor and hosts a wonderful concert series throughout the year. The director Claire is just the sweetest, if you happen to be at our place when they have an event going on we couldn't more highly recommend joining in!

Nice days you can a enjoy a pint on the patio, or you can choose the classroom bar to hide away in a corner with a pint. We can't say anything more than you really should try this place if you are a fan of beer and fun!

Our closest local brewery makes some pretty wonderful easy-drinking and more complex beers and is in a beautiful rural setting less than 10 minutes from us. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Parks & Nature
In my (biased) opinion, this is the best local beach. They've done a good job of keeping it family friendly, so if you're looking for a pint overlooking the beach you should head to Turkey Point or Port Dover, however the views are pretty stunning and the beach is pretty beautiful at Long Point.

Everything Else
Port Dover is one of the most lively and lovely towns in our area. So many cute shops, small restaurants and an all around great vibe, you should definitely make the trip there if you can fit it in!
