Sightseeing
The Abbey and entire town is National Trust and therefor feels like stepping back in time. Scene of Harry Potter, Downton and many other film and tv shows. If going on Sat/Sun then be early to avoid crowds and tourist loads in the summer. NT car park is cash only and is £3-4.

The Abbey and entire town is National Trust and therefor feels like stepping back in time. Scene of Harry Potter, Downton and many other film and tv shows. If going on Sat/Sun then be early to avoid crowds and tourist loads in the summer. NT car park is cash only and is £3-4.
Another National Trust location but this time a grand house set down in some rugged scenery. The parkland makes a great walk and there are herds of deer dotted around. Look up their website to find out when the stags rutting season begins!

It's a crescent, of stunning Georgian townhouses, made from Bath sandstone, sat above a park and it has "Royal" in the title. Need we say more.

Well preserved museum/tour of the Roman Baths and temple complex that sat below what is now central Bath. We've visited Rome and the various archeological sites there and honestly, the Baths in Bath are equal, if not better, preserved and accessible. Not the cheapest but Great Western railways (Chippenham to Bath) did a Two for One deal when you presented your train ticket.

Lovely local park good for a short stroll but especially good for kids with the play park and splash pad for hot summer days.

You pay for entrance (and it aint cheap) but a lovely landscaped garden with lake and a massive kids play park with climbing frames, slides and soft play. Good for a day out.

Not the court itself (although you can pay to look around) but the common just next to it. Right on Church St just before you reach the church and you'll see the stiles for the Common. Big area to walk and see the grazing sheep and seasonal geese.

Designer Outlet! Some good bargains to be had and many coffee shops to drink in. More and more shops and restaurants just added. Parking can get very busy after 11am on Saturdays/Sundays.
